• The Societal Electronics Group (SEG) aims to contribute to the National as well as Global aspirations of technology and product development for societal needs pertaining to the fields of electronic smart systems for Environment, Agriculture, Water, Green Energy, Food, Pollution, Bio-medical, Security, Automotive, Space, Strategic and related areas.

Mission

• To build a modern digital India by sustained scientific research and development in the fields of societal, industrial, scientific, medical, and strategic sectors. The group aims to execute delivery-oriented collaborative R&D projects and knowledge generation in cutting-edge technologies through active linkages with Industries, Academia, Startups, MSMEs, and line ministries for providing interdisciplinary scientific solutions for the Societal Applications.

Mandate

• The group works to achieve sustainable development goals for the various applications of societal needs. The group is actively engaged in Design, Development, and Delivery of innovative technologies and associated solutions for Societal Applications. The current active research areas of the group and the associated domains are, Plasma Devices & Technologies, VLSI Design, FPGA-based Prototyping, Embedded Systems, Sensors Electronic Circuit Design, Control Circuits, PCB Design, Circuit Testing & Debugging, Hardware Security, Power Electronics and associated fields.
