The proposed workshop will lead to fruitful information exchange and aims at the development of collaborations between Indian and German scientists. It will also help in strengthening the ties for joint development of this demanding technology for the future.

The workshop on Terahertz Technology for Industrial Application will prove to be a useful resource by providing a wide-ranging introduction to the capabilities of THz radiation for those outside or just entering the field as well as providing perspective and breadth for those who are well established. We also feel that this workshop should serve as a useful guide for government and several funding agencies. Through this proposed joint workshop, a firm collaboration will be strengthened between both the countries in this field. The proposed topic of this workshop aligns very well with the ongoing worldwide efforts. Recent resurged interest in new and more powerful THz radiation devices has been fueled by the promise of THz technology to solve key challenges in various fields that are not possible by conventional techniques. Significant exploratory research is needed to accomplish the industrial objectives of both the countries in Germany and India. With the relevant base in the technological development and expertise at India and Germany, this workshop is apt for a joint collaborative work.
