Chirag P. Mistry completed his B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Government Engineering College, Patan, Gujarat, and M.E. in Mechanical Engineering (CAD/CAM) from L.D. College of Engineering, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, in 2012 and 2014, respectively. During his postgraduate studies, he was associated with the Diagnostic Neutral Beam Group of the Institute for Plasma Research (ITER-India), Gandhinagar, where he carried out his dissertation work. Since 2016, he has been serving as a Scientist at CSIR–Central Electronics Engineering Research Institute (CSIR-CEERI), Pilani, Rajasthan. He is currently working with the Vacuum Electronic Devices (VED) Group, contributing to advanced research and development in the field of vacuum electronics devises for strategic application. He has authored and co-authored around 25 publications in peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters, primarily in the areas of Vacuum Electronic Devices (VED) and space Traveling Wave Tubes (TWTs). He is actively involved in space TWT research under sponsored and mission-mode projects. His R&D contributions have been recognized through several institutional, national, and international awards. He was awarded a fellowship by DST-SERB, which enabled him to visit international platforms twice to present his research work. Recently, he was honoured with the prestigious IEI Young Engineers Award 2024–25 by The Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata. His current research interests include thermo-mechanical aspects of space TWTs, design and development of space-compatible TWT packaging, development of vacuum electronic devices, product development, brazing techniques, and vacuum technology.
