National Sports Day 2024 was observed in the Institute with great zeal and high spirits. Football, Cricket (Tennis ball), Shotput, Discus throw, Basketball (shoot), Tug of War games were conducted during the two-day program to chose the Champions. Dr PC Panchariya, Director, CSIR-CEERI awarded the winners with coveted Major Dhayan Chand National Sports Day Trophy on 29th August, 2024. In the women”s category Team PT Usha became the Champions and in Men’s category Team Dhanraj Pillay became the Champions by scoring maximum points.

Dr Panchariya congratulated the winners and applauded the participants for playing with discipline and team spirit. He underlined that Discipline, Hard work and Team spirit is the mantra of success, be it in Sports or R&D.

He also applauded the efforts of CSIR CEERI Staff Club for brilliantly and efficiently organizing the event. Mr Jay Shanker Sharan, CoA also congratulated the winners. Dr Niraj, Secretary, Staff Club presented the complete overview of different activities organized during the event. A short video film was also screened during the closing ceremony, prepared on the activities organized.
